Data-Driven Nike Store On Melrose Will Minimize Human Interaction

People of Los Angeles sometimes don't want to socialize, especially when they're on a mission buying something at the store. Well, 'Nike by Melrose' is the newest shop to come to Melrose Ave which was built by the people of Melrose.

The company did some studying about how people interact with Nike around the area and came up with this concept for a store which uses data to see the best location of the store and what it stocks.

The 4,557 square foot building is the first of the Nike Live concept store changes the game with a mix of digital and physical shopping. Powered by the Nike digital data, everything in the store is designed to work with the Nike Plus app which will be on shoppers’ phones.

Take a look to see what you think of it:

This shop is perfect for people who really don't like talking to anyone while shopping or that usual question from sales clerks "can I help you with anything" or "did you want to hear about our sales"... I mean, don't get me wrong, they're great help but sometimes you're just not in the mood to talk.

No worries, because now you can pre-order items on the app which will be placed in smart lockers at the store that buyers can open using their Nike Plus member pass. When shoppers see a product in the store, all they have to do is scan a code with their phone to do something like request a different size and then a salesperson will bring it out immediately! How cool!

Apparently, you won't even interact with employees at all! A text message function within the app will allow shoppers to text questions to store employees and get answers without actually speaking with them face-to-face.

Thoughts about this?!
