Actress Jenny Mollen experienced every mother's worst nightmare recently when a terrible accident landed her son in the hospital. On Wednesday (April 17), the 39-year-old shared the scary account of how dropping her 5-year-old son, Sid, with whom she shares with husband and actor Jason Biggs, caused the infant to sustain a fractured skull.

"On Saturday evening, I dropped my son on his head causing him to fracture his skull and landing him in the ICU,” the Angel alum revealed in an Instagram post. “I am forever grateful to Lenox Hill downtown and @nyphospital for their immediate response and aid. Thank you to all of the nurses, neurologists, pediatricians, residents, cafeteria staff and brave women that keep the visitor’s bathroom clean. Not sure how this post turned into an Oscars acceptance speech… But @biggsjason Thank god for you! Thank god, thank god, thank god.”

Despite the traumatic episode, Mollen assured followers her baby boy is "taking things slowly and recovering nicely."

"He is also eating a lot of chocolate dipped ice cream cones and plans to try cherry dipped soon," she added. "My heart goes out to all parents who have or will ever find themselves in this kind of position. You are not alone…"

Since the scare, followers have been nothing but supportive of Mollen. "Your honesty is really beautiful. Appreciate you making this story public. Much love to Sid and your whole fam," one user wrote. Another added: "Parents are not perfect. Parents make mistakes. Some mistakes suck more than others. We are all human. Thank goodness Sid is going to be fine."

We're sending well-wishes to Mollen and her family — and wishing Baby Sid a safe recovery!
