Ariana Grande Blesses Fans With 'God Is A Woman' Track Off 'Sweetener'

Ariana Grande finally blessed fans with the highly anticipated track "God is a Woman" off her upcoming album Sweetener. The song was released live at midnight across digital music services, surprising fans a full week ahead of schedule. Fans weren't sure what to expect from the track - just that it's one of Ari's favorites from the album.

Ariana has heavily teased the track's release, as well as touching on the song's special significance. According to Billboard, the meaning behind "God is a Woman" is all about "sexual female empowerment & how women are literally everything & the universe is inside of us.” Ariana does not shy away from those themes at all in lyrics and even uses a ton of religious imagery to explore her message in her lyrics:

“I feel it after midnight/A feeling that you can’t fight/My one/It lingers when we’re done/You’ll believe God is a woman / Baby lay me down and let’s pray... Boy, if you confess, you might get blessed

Fans are busy worshipping the track on social media, but there's one fan who's reaction is sure to warm Ariana's heart. Her fiancé, Pete Davidson, is acting as her official hype man surrounding the release. The comedian took to Instagram to help promote the song, rocking official "God is a Woman" merch. "GIAW out now!!!!" he captioned the photo. Love seeing Pete support his girl! It's reportedly Pete's favorite track on the album, as well.

Ariana co-wrote the sensual track with Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, Rickard Göransson, and ILYA. "God is a Woman" follows the release of first single "No Tears Left to Cry"  and follow up "The Light is Coming" with frequent collaborator Nicki Minaj. Now that "God is a Woman" is out in the world, fans look forward to hearing another highly anticipated track "r.e.m." Ariana teased the song just yesterday during a game of Song Association with Elle. The full album will drop on Aug. 17.
